Multi-Channel Image Generation

UNIGINE's proprietary "Syncker" system allows multi-channel rendering involving several PCs (image generators, IGs) connected over a network, and performs synchronized rendering of the same scene with different viewports. This allows a stable 60 Hz frame rate even for ultra-resolution 360-degree display systems.

UNIGINE provides non-linear image correction (warping) and edge blending on the software level, which enables the use of multiple projectors and curved screens without the need for expensive additional hardware.

No more compromise! Not only terrain, but also vegetation and objects are visible up to the horizon with UNIGINE thanks to the extremely optimized core engine and advanced level of detail (LOD) system.

Huge Datasets

UNIGINE features 64-bit double precision floating point math (instead of regular 32-bit float precision) to define coordinates of objects in the virtual scene. This enables real-world scale of virtual scenes as large as the solar system.


Flight simulation requires multiple specialized lights (PAPI, TDZ, REIL, etc), which have to meet strict certification requirements. There is a SimLight system in UNIGINE 2 featuring the following:

  • Visible from far distances of several kilometers
  • Compatible with multi-channel rendering
  • Angle-dependent visibility check, ability to limit both vertical & horizontal angles
  • Periodic blinking controlled by frequency (in Hz) and duration (in seconds) for rabbit lights
  • Light rotation with frequency (in Hz)

Supersonic Speed

UNIGINE performs lightning fast background loading of assets to even handle supersonic flight simulators over extremely detailed scenes without lag. On-the-fly file unpacking reduces disk system requirements thus saving on costs. There is also fine control over data streaming queues, and support for zone loading.

Realistic Atmosphere Model

Every flight simulator requires realistic visual model for the virtual atmosphere. UNIGINE provides life-like skies featuring:

  • Atmospheric light scattering based on Rayleigh and Mie models with support for physical parameters like turbidity, altitude, depolarization and more
  • Dynamic time of day model
  • Dynamic weather effects, including wind affecting objects, rain, lightning, and snow
  • Night sky with the moon and correlated stars
  • Volumetric 3D clouds with shadows
